This agreement will grant Venus Medtech the right to exclusively develop, manufacture and sell the 3rd generation TriGUARD 3™ device and the next generation of cerebral embolic protection device in China and other major Asian markets. In March, 2017, Venus Medtech announced a partnership agreement to promote Venus Medtech's TAVR system, VenusA-Valve, in combination with Keystone Heart's 1^st generation TriGuard™ Cerebral Embolic Protection Device in China and other major Asian markets. In February 2017, the association of neuroscience research (NeuroARC) officially issued guidelines to establish and provide standardized neurological endpoints for vascular clinical trials. The guide is published in the Journal of the American Cardiology and the European Heart Journal, and the guide also points out that more and more evidence shows "recessive" brain damage in patients receiving transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and other cardiovascular surgery. This issue has been particularly prominent over the past 5 years. A total of 13 studies conducted in the US and Europe show that about 80% of patients develop new brain injury after TAVR. The NeuroTAVR study showed that 94% of the patients had new brain lesions after TAVR, and 22.6% of the patients had a new nerve injury after TAVR, and 41% of the patients had neurocognitive impairment within 30 days.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) is a minimally invasive procedure conducted to repair a diseased aortic valve. With the increasing incidence of valvular degenerative lesions in the elderly, aortic valve calcification stenosis has become a common valvular heart disease in the elderly group. This group is severely symptomatic, suffers from poor recovery after surgery and presents a high mortality rate. For patients with high/intermediate -risk or with surgical contraindications, TAVR can be used as an effective  treatment, with clear advantages of minimal trauma and quick recovery. Avoiding the risk of traditional open-chest surgery and cardiopulmonary bypass, TAVR is able to bring hope of rebirth to this group of patients.

Genmab Announces Topline Results in Phase III study of Arzerra® in Indolent Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

*Copenhagen, Denmark; May 24, 2018 –** Genmab A/S (Nasdaq Copenhagen: GEN) announced today that topline results from the Phase III study of Arzerra^® (ofatumumab) plus bendamustine did not meet the primary endpoint of improved progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with indolent B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (iNHL) who were unresponsive to rituximab or a rituximab-containing regimen, compared to those given bendamustine alone. *The safety profile observed in this study was consistent with that observed in other trials of ofatumumab and no new safety signals were observed.

“We are disappointed that the ofatumumab treatment regimen did not meet the primary endpoint in this trial. The completion of this Phase III study, which began in 2010, would not have been possible without the generous participation of the patients and their families, and we are most grateful for this. The full data will be submitted for publication at a future medical conference and we hope that these will provide a better understanding of this result,” said Jan van de Winkel, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of Genmab.

The results from this Phase III study do not impact any other ongoing studies with ofatumumab.

The study is an open-label, two-arm, randomized, Phase III study that included 346 patients with indolent B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma who were unresponsive to rituximab or a rituximab-containing regimen. Patients in the study were randomized 1:1 to treatment with up to eight cycles of bendamustine given in combination with 12 doses of ofatumumab (1,000 mg) or up to eight cycles with bendamustine alone. The primary endpoint of the study was PFS.

Ofatumumab is not approved for the treatment of indolent non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Ofatumumab is a human monoclonal antibody that is designed to target the CD20 molecule found on the surface of normal B lymphocytes and on B cell malignancies (including chronic lymphocytic leukemia and non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas).

In the United States, Arzerra is approved for use in combination with chlorambucil for the treatment of previously untreated patients with CLL for whom fludarabine-based therapy is considered inappropriate, in combination with fludarabine and cyclophosphamide for the treatment of patients with relapsed CLL and for extended treatment of patients who are in complete or partial response after at least two lines of therapy for recurrent or progressive CLL. New model aims to be most comfortable and spacious SUV in segment - and we've driven it

Citroën has officially launched the C5 Aircross in Europe, bringing a firm focus on in-car comfort to the compact five-seat SUV segment.

One year after a China-specific model made its debut at the Shanghai motor show, Citroën has now repackaged the C5 Aircross to appeal to European customers. It is set to rival the Nissan Qashqai and Seat Ateca in what is still Europe’s fastest-growing car sector, making the car crucial to Citroën’s future.

It is the second model to receive Citroën’s new rally-derived Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension system, following the C4 Cactus, which aims to deliver “peerless comfort” while retaining the relaxed characteristics of the company’s long-standing hydropneumatic system.

The two-stage system has two hydraulic stops on either side, with one for compression and the other for rebound. According to Citroën, this results in “a magic carpet ride” even when driving over uneven ground. For major impacts, the hydraulic stops work with the spring and shock absorber to avoid jerky movement and unwanted bouncing.

Advanced Comfort upholstery, unique to the European-spec C5 Aircross, aims to further improve interior comfort with thicker, softer seat padding and greater adjustment. All three second-row seats are the same width, so the middle passenger has just as much room as the others.

Double-laminated front windows and engine bay soundproofing aim to reduce exterior noise, while an active air quality system uses an air-purifying carbon filter.

Citroën head of product Xavier Peugeot said this will make the C5 Aircross "the most comfortable SUV on the market", bringing “an all-new level of overall comfort” to the segment.

The C5 Aircross, which is 4.5 metres long and 1.84m wide, is built on the same EMP2 platform as PSA group’s other SUVs, the Peugeot 3008 and DS 7 Crossback, but with a 2.73m wheelbase that makes it larger than both the Qashqai and Ateca.

This gives the C5 Aircross the largest storage capacity of any SUV in the segment, according to Citroën, with 580-720 litres with the second-row seats in place. All three rear seats slide, incline and fold flat to provide a total 1630 litres of storage.

The production version of the C5 Aircross has been toned down from the concept, with Citroën’s signature airbumps being much less prominent here than they are on the C4 Cactus.

It has a front grille inspired by the China-only C6 saloon and cuts down on the amount of plastic on show to appeal to a Chinese audience, but it keeps an element of the side protection that made the C4 Cactus stand out.

Citroën head of design Alexandre Malval described the C5 Aircross as “an asserted design” that will “enable it to seduce customers in every market around the world”.

It also continues the trend for expansive personalisation options first seen on the C3 Aircross and C4 Cactus, with seven body colours, a choice of 17in, 18in or 19in alloy wheels and three colour packs to add contrasting highlights to the front bumper, Airbump side panels and roof bars.

Inside, there are five interior trim choices, which are all specific to the European model, along with an 8.0in touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3in digital instrument cluster, the latest-generation Citroën Connect Nav sat-nav and wireless smartphone charging.

Driver aids include a 360deg parking camera, ConnectedCAM dash camera built into the rear-view mirror and a Highway Driver Assist mode that combines adaptive cruise control and active lane departure warning for semi-autonomous stop-and-go driving.

At launch, buyers will have a choice of a Puretech 130 engine with a six-speed manual gearbox and a Puretech 180 unit with an eight-speed automatic 'box. BlueHDi 130 (manual or auto) and BlueHDI 180 (automatic) diesel models will also be available.

UK prices have yet to be confirmed, but the Aircross is expected to closely mirror that of its subling 3008, which retails from £21,995.

A plug-in hybrid variant, a first for any Citroën, is due in late 2019. It will be the only 4x4 model in the range; the current petrol and diesel variants are two-wheel drive only, but they include Citroën’s Grip Control system to manage traction across Standard, Sand, Off-road, Snow and ESP Off modes.

All C5 Aircross variants will be built in Citroën’s Rennes-La Janais facility, with cars arriving at dealerships in late 2018.

-Behind the wheel of a C5 Aircross Prototype -

We briefly drove the Aircross in prototype guise on a short, closed-course handling circuit comprised of smooth tarmac, cobbled roads and a fair few speed humps.

As with the C4 Cactus, it was impossible not to notice the extra padding in the Advanced Comfort seats as soon as we sat down: posterior-sinkingly soft at first, but with with sturdy side bolsters and plenty of under-thigh support.

On the move, the progressive hydraulic cushions helped the car glide over normal roads, with less vibration over rougher surfaces than traditional dampers. Unlike older Citroens, which were also renowned for their comfortable, floaty rides, the C5 isn’t upset by high-frequency bumps.

The system isn’t infallible, with speed bumps in particular still able to unsettle the ride, but for the most part it gives the C5 character unique amongst its peers. Reported by Autocar 3 hours ago.

*Outlook*

The Group's results show strong sensitivity to changes in some factors, particularly manganese ore and alloys prices as well as nickel prices, the Euro-US dollar exchange rate, and the oil price. The impact of these factors is outlined in the Group's 2017 Registration Document^[4]. As an example, average SLN's cash cost^[5] was USD 4.80/lb at constant economic conditions^[6] in first quarter 2018, corresponding to USD 5.74/lb at current conditions and USD 6.39/lb including capital expenditure and finance cost ("break-even cost"^[7]).

Overall, the Group's markets remain favourable at the start of second quarter 2018, but with a few signs of slowdown. In a context of tensions and uncertainty in international trade relations, our outlook remains uncertain regarding the change in raw materials and alloys prices in the months ahead.

Unite New Mexico, a citizens movement to bridge the growing partisan divide by electing common-sense, independent candidates to office, today announced its endorsement of its first two independent candidates running for the New Mexico state house in 2018. The announcement, which was made at the State Capitol where leaders across New Mexico gathered and participated in a discussion about the need for independent leadership, adds fuel to the rapidly growing presence of credible unaffiliated candidates in state and federal races across the nation for the 2018 midterm elections.

Unite New Mexico’s initial slate of candidates includes Jarratt Applewhite (HD-50), a Lamy businessman, nonprofit executive and former Sante Fe Board of Education member, and Tweeti Blancett (HD-40), a fifth generation New Mexican, small business owner, former state representative and environmental activist from Eagle Nest in Colfax County.

“We’re proud to endorse Jarratt and Tweeti because of their lifelong commitment to New Mexico and their local communities,” said Unite New Mexico co-chair Bob Perls, a former state representative and former U.S. diplomat. “These leaders represent what it means to put people ahead of partisan and special interests and we’re excited to do all we can to support their candidacies.”

In New Mexico, 24 percent of voters are registered as an independent, if those who state “no party preference” or decline to state their preference are included. Zero of the state’s 112 legislators are independent, and an independent candidate has never been elected. Just two or three independents, however, could control the balance of power, deny both parties a majority and use leverage as a “fulcrum” to force compromise amongst the two parties if elected.

Unite New Mexico is a partner of Unite America, a national organization that aims to bridge the growing partisan divide by electing common-sense, independent candidates to office at a state and national level. The national movement includes other state partners in Colorado, Washington and Maine.

In February, Unite America made history when it unveiled the first national slate of unaffiliated candidates in a century, including U.S. Senate candidates Craig O’Dear of Missouri and Neal Simon of Maryland, and gubernatorial candidates Terry Hayes of Maine, Greg Orman of Kansas and Governor Bill Walker of Alaska.

“New Mexico is ripe for political disruption, and I am excited that Unite New Mexico is bringing much needed competition to a political system that clearly is not working,” said Nick Troiano, executive director of Unite America. “We’re honored to welcome Jarratt and Tweeti into a community of trailblazing, independent candidates that spans the entire country.”

Both candidates will see heads up races against just one major party opponent this fall, as partisan gerrymandering has caused many seats in New Mexico to be uncompetitive. Applewhite will run against incumbent representative Matthew McQueen of District 50 while Blancett will run against whomever emerges from a crowded primary in District 40.

Applewhite and Blancett have each signed the Unite movement’s “Declaration of Independents,” a statement of shared principles that includes putting people ahead of partisan interests, following the facts and seeking compromising, and committing to the shared responsibility of civic engagement. Both candidates are also advocates for structural reforms, including ending gerrymandering, opening the state’s primaries to independent voters and reducing barriers to entry for candidates running outside the two major system.

In New Mexico, there are still 34 seats uncontested by one of the two major parties this fall. Unite New Mexico is recruiting independent voters and community leaders to run this cycle. To support Applewhite, Blancett and others who step forward, Unite New Mexico is building a network of voters, volunteers and donors necessary to level the playing field for independent candidates.

Over the last month, United New Mexico conducted a listening tour with stops in Farmington, Roswell and Las Cruces. Along the way, representatives of the organization talked to prospective candidates, voters and potential financial backers. Future events are planned for Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
